Michael Nordmann is a seasoned financial planning professional and Partner at Independence Financial, LLC, where he serves clients as a trusted Financial Advisor focused on comprehensive planning, long-term wealth strategies, and relationship-driven guidance. Michael works closely with business owners, individuals, and families to help them navigate complex financial decisions with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Michael brings more than 15 years of experience in comprehensive financial planning and wealth management leadership. Prior to joining Independence Financial, Michael served as Principal and Chief Wealth Officer at Maner Costerisan, where he founded and lead the firm’s wealth management practice. Throughout his career, Michael has been known for acting as a “personal CFO” for his clients—integrating investments, tax strategy, retirement planning, and life goals into a cohesive financial roadmap.

Earlier in his career, Michael built a strong foundation at Morrison, Nordmann & Associates, where he developed lasting client relationships and refined his ability to simplify complex financial concepts into practical, values-based strategies. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA®) credential, underscoring his commitment to fiduciary excellence and comprehensive financial planning.

Michael is deeply committed to community involvement and service. He is an active member of the Oshkosh Southwest Rotary Club and serves as an adjunct member of the Valley Christian School Board, reflecting his passion for leadership, service, and investing in future generations.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from Spring Arbor University. Michael and his wife, Kate, have lived in Oshkosh since 2019, where they are raising their three children, along with their family’s black lab. Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time near the water, visiting local farmer’s markets, and staying active through sports such as basketball, golf, and volleyball.

Guided by the question, “What does love require of me?”, Michael brings empathy, integrity, and intentionality to both his professional relationships and his personal life—helping clients build financial strategies that support what matters most, today and for generations to come.
